  Positive Discipline for Parenting in Recovery,

Description of Course:
  This course if for people in recovery who have children and who want to break the unhealthy , discouraging patterns of relating that are created by chemical abuse . It is also for adult children of substance abusers, those living in relationships with a person who is abusing drugs or alcohol, and for people in the helping professions.  The course provides participants with an opportunity to explore the long range results of their discipline methods, a framework for better understanding of the goals of misbehavior, and develop communication skills that foster mutual respect and dignity. They will become familiar with parenting options that promote the development of internal discipline and the personal characteristics of being responsible, confident, and capable.  While much of the course will be geared towards families with very young children, the materials are applicable to all ages.
